We are looking for several communication professionals who are motivated by the challenge of driving engagement for the company's strategic direction. You will develop communication strategies and assets for top management levels as well as content for broader target groups. From a strategic perspective, you will be working in close collaboration with the Corporate Communications department. This is an interesting opportunity if you like to challenge the traditional ways of working with communication.
Main responsibilities
As a Communications Manager at Volvo Cars your key task is to ensure that our employees are informed about the business performance and engaged in the ongoing transformation. You need to establish yourself as a trusted advisor on communications within the organisation, working in direct partnership with leaders to engage staff in delivering departmental priorities, and support organisational and cultural change. You will use a mix of communication channels including digital and social channels.
* Find, create and manage communication stories for internal and external target groups
* Manage strategic planning, operational execution and follow up of communication activities to all target groups within your organisation
* Provide coaching and support to management within the area of communication
* Provide fresh thinking and use creative ideas turning complex information into clear proposals and engaging content for audiences
* Be the communication lead on all strategic matters, within your organisation and outside, to key partners in the company
* Develop new ways of engaging with employees and leaders through creativity, cross-collaboration and curiosity - contributing to making Volvo Cars the employer of choice
Desired skills and experience
As an ideal candidate for this position, you have an academic degree or equivalent within the area of communication/journalism as well as a proven background (minimum five years) in the area of either communication and/or project management. Additionally, some of your key characteristics include:
* Solid understanding of digital and internal communication strategy in a global environment
* Proven communication skills with experience from working with communications or related area in a corporate setting
* Deep knowledge of change management and how to communicate it appropriately
* Business acumen and understanding of business context and ability to create suitable communication
* Excellent presentation, writing and proof reading skills
* Project leading skills and a real passion for communication as tool for improved business performance
* Experience from working with top executives and high level corporate projects/events
* Good understanding of digital channels and social media. Experience in digital projects would be a plus
* Fluency in English and Swedish is required (both written and spoken). Additional language knowledge is meriting
* A stylistic ability with a good eye for design and lay-out
