The department Purchasing Chassis & Metal source products for our global truck and bus production like sheet metal parts and chassis components. We are looking for a committed team member interested in business who wants to be part of developing the future of Scania within the Volkswagen group.
Job description
In the role as Commodity Buyer you will work cross-functionally in Scania's network and together with colleagues within the Volkswagen group to optimise the cost of sourced components. You will together with your colleagues develop your segments and suppliers in a targeted manner to create the best possible business for Scania short and long term. Your main tasks will consist of development of the supplier base, ensuring delivery capacity, create and execute cost reduction activities, negotiations and agreements.
Your profile
We are looking for a team player with a technical and commercial interest and a couple of years of working experience. You will probably have a university or college degree.
To be successful in this role you 'll need to be an independent problem solver, motivated, business-like and down-to-earth, and possess a good ability to create and maintain good relations while working in an organised way. Your communication is clear and you have a desire to develop within purchasing.
As the position involves many international contacts, you must enjoy travelling as part of your work and be able to express yourself fluently in written and spoken English and Swedish. Knowledge of German language is an advantage.
