We are responsible for procuring and maintaining supplies of electronic components for our present and upcoming vehicle generations. The development of electrical components for Scania products is running fast and requirements both for the products and our suppliers are increasing. To keep up with the increase we are growing our team and we are looking for a new purchaser to become part of our journey.

We are a diverse team with lots of experience in purchasing and electronics who enjoy working closely together. We like solving problems both within the team and with our cross-function and always strive to find the best solutions for Scania. We are working in an international environment and collaborating closely with our colleagues in the Volkswagen and Traton group. Our team has different backgrounds, competencies, and skills, and we strive for a climate where opinions and knowledge are openly shared within the team without any sense of prestige.

Responsibilities

In this new role you will be working closely with our experienced purchasers and supporting the material group owners. While learning and developing, your daily work will include operative tasks, as well negotiation of terms and conditions, aligning business strategies with suppliers, coordinating, plan and follow-up activities closely with purchasing, production and R&D colleagues. You will support product cost optimization and perform strategic nominations of new business together with your project purchasing colleagues, as well as working to align and improve processes within the area of Electronics and cable harness.

In your new role you will also:

• Taking lead to define and execute localization strategies for our production in China
• Coordinating commercial and strategic activities within the TRATON group (Navistar, MAN, VWT&B) for the business area
• Securing and improving right TQDCS (Technology Quality Delivery Cost Sustainability) from our supplier base
• Safeguard long-term capacity to stablize production for Scania
• Work closely with other functions at Scania, such as R&D and Production
• Have the opportunity to learn from experienced purchasers and support new colleagues

Your profile

You are a person with a commercial interest and a passion for doing business while staying close to technology. You are a strong communicator, analytical, structured, take your own initiative and are able to handle multiple things at the same time. You enjoy working in a team towards a common goal and being a representative of purchasing towards internal functions and suppliers. You are self-driven, ambitious and make your department reach set business goals.

You have an academic degree in industrial engineering, economics or comparable. You should be confident in communicating and presenting to different levels, you are used to handling, preparing and understanding large amount of data. As the role involves cooperation with global suppliers, you should be able to travel occasionally, are fluent in writing and speaking English. Other language skills are an advantage.
