Scania Global Purchasing is responsible for sourcing products and services for all of Scania's units around the world. The global purchasing function is based in Södertälje.
The group Commodity Brakes and Chassis Components is a team of 7 people and we are currently looking for a committed colleague within the Brake segments who is interested in commerce, new technology and wants to be involved in the development of Scania within the Volkswagen group.
Job description
In the role as Commodity Buyer within the Brake segments you will work cross-functionally in Scania's network and together with colleagues within the Volkswagen group to optimise the cost of sourced components.
You will together with your colleagues develop your segments and suppliers in a targeted manner to create the best possible business for Scania short and long term. You will be involved in all commercial issues with regard to your suppliers and sourced material.
Your main tasks will consist of development of the supplier base, ensuring delivery capacity, create and execute cost reduction activities, negotiations and agreements.
Your profile
We are looking for a team player with a technical and commercial interest and a couple of years of working experience. You will probably have a university or college degree.
To be successful in this role you'll need to be an independent problem solver, motivated, business-like and down-to-earth, and possess a good ability to create and maintain good relations while working in an organised way. Your communication is clear and you have a desire to develop within purchasing.
As the position involves many international contacts, you must enjoy travelling as part of your work and be able to express yourself fluently in written and spoken English and Swedish. Knowledge of German language is an advantage.
