Commodity/Product Buyer
The purchasing department Chassis, is responsible for purchase of direct material to VCC and is divided into three groups: Tires and & Chassis systems, Brakes & Steering and Wheel suspension. The group Tires and Wheels & Chassis systems is now replacing one of the Product/Commodity Buyers who will join another department in Volvo Cars.
Your main tasks will be to purchase prototypes and production material for programs and running production. You will also be responsible for sourcing and quality assurance of suppliers.
Job profile:
• Carry out negotiations at an optimal cost level
• Set up agreements and contracts
• Conduct supplier selection and evaluation
• Cooperate in cross-functional teams
• Achieve improvements and efficiency by establishing a supplier base in accordance with overall strategy
• Be the main contact for all commercial issues towards suppliers
• Carry out different sourcing activities like quotations, agreements etc
• Act on design changes within the project
• Establish action plans on part specific supplier issues in running business
Your profile:
• Purchasing experience in the automotive industry is desired
• Commercial or Technical University degree or equivalent work experience
• Technical interest
• Ability to work with departments across the organization
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Ability to work successfully in a team
• Strong computer skills
• Good communication and negotiation skills
• Fluent in Swedish and English both spoken and written
• High integrity
• Ability to prioritize in order to meet deadlines and expectations
