Commodity Manufacturing Engineering is one of the departments within Volvo Cars Manufacturing Engineering VCME. We prepare and implement quality assured, flexible and effective production systems in the Final Assembly plants. Our task is to ensure a process-driven product development by driving forward and coordinating Manufacturing Engineering activities in design and product development, with focus on production-effective product solutions. Our team is a 16 persons group within Manufacturing who works close to all our elements within the chain of developing- construction- manufacturing and containing process.

As Commodity Manufacturing Engineer you will lead the cross technical product and production manufacturing work, as well as represent Manufacturing during prepare and implement phases within the commodity area within Volvo Cars. Your main tasks will be to assure a flawless introduction of car programs into our plants. You will lead and coordinate activities within the defined area of responsibility and continuously strive for commonality within the Volvo Cars plants.

Main responsibilities

* Lead and coordinate the manufacturing process within Research & Development
* Represent Manufacturing Engineering as well as within ME and Research & Development
* Ensure the input to Analysis and Verification needs
* Drive and follow-up "six manufacturing attributes" within area of responsibility
* Create and upgrade assembly instructions for production
* Create and upgrade FMEA for your defined area
* Reports in Digital Pre Assembly checklist status
* Report Product and Process approval and concerns
* Give input to the summary and report gate and milestone answers within the area
* Reporting status and deviations in decided systems and tools and ensure that there are actions
* Follow-up of cost within responsible area.

Required qualifications

* Technical competence at senior high school or Bsc in Mechanical Engineering
* Practical experience of the production process
* Knowledge about the manufacturing process, method and tools
* Fluent in English, spoken and written
* Drivers licence B
* Skills in Product Development, preferably in automotive industry is meritorious
* 6 Sigma is meritorious
* Knowledge in FMEA and Virtual development tools is meritorious

* Positive and pro-active attitude
* Strong ability for cross functional and multicultural teamwork
* Ability to travel
