Description
For our client we are looking for a Commodity Manager. The focus will be on managing all direct material commodities and related commercial relationships with suppliers.
Role Description:
The Commodity Manager for the client's Landscape Maintenance Equipment is part of P&A sourcing team and report to the P&A Sourcing director. The Commodity Manager is responsible for quality, delivery, cost efficiency and sustainability of the direct material commodity supply throughout the product lifecycle on a global level.
Essential Duties:
• Actively develop and maintain supplier base to support the need of current product range and new projects.
• Be ultimately in charge of all commercial relationships with suppliers within the commodity within the client division, securing targeted levels of cost, quality, delivery precision, sustainability, innovation etc.
• Drive value by implementing strategic sourcing and entering into cost efficient agreements that fulfil supply requirements, by using a systematic sourcing methodology and a continuous total cost of ownership focus. Be responsible for finding new suppliers, negotiations, supplier selection, development and maintenance of vendor agreements.
• Manage supplier relationships to drive supplier performance, contract effectiveness, collaboration and integration and deliver improved result. Build and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with key vendors within the commodity with the objective of reducing costs and eliminating inefficiencies.
• Build and maintain relationships with internal functions within purchasing, such as Project Sourcing / OEM Purchasing /Operational Sourcing and Supplier Quality Assurance and
• Build and maintain relationships with internal customers/ Stakeholders and other functions , such as PM&D, Manufacturing, Supply & Demand, to ensure continuous improvement and that service level commitments are met.
• Conduct cost saving activities, budgeting (including negotiations and other savings), and annual price negotiations as well as LCC initiatives.
• Experience:
Minimum 5 years of purchasing experience, preferably in commodity management positions
Experience of manufacturing and production process for cutting equipment is an advantage.
• Languages:
Fluent English is required (written and oral)
• Ability to define a vision and strategy for purchasing and the assigned commodities
• Deep insights in the purchasing environment for the commodities managed; sufficient to analyse business procurement issues
• Strong planning, organization, analytical, and problem solving skills
• Excellent knowledge of the strategic sourcing methodology and its application in for example fact based negotiations and cross functional team collaboration
• Capabilities in managing strategic supplier relationships, including relationship building, performance, development and integration
• Strong interpersonal skills (e.g., tact/diplomacy, listening, negotiation, etc).
• Understanding the importance of customer service and internal stakeholder management
Preferred skills:
• Knowledge and experience within manufacturing and production of metal components
• Strong technical interested and competence within metal components
Working language: English, Swedish
