Commodity Buyer - Volvo Group Purchasing (Facility Services & Utilities)

Our department provides the entire Volvo Group with facility management services and utilities to make our employees day to day work life function. We handle everything from facility service integrator, security, waste management, restaurants, vending, furniture, profiling & design, office supplies to electricity, gas, heating.

Who are we?
Our team is part of Volvo Group Purchasing, and we specialize in Facility Services & Utilities. In the European team, which you will be part of, we are 13 people based in both Sweden and France. You will be based in Gothenburg or Lyon and be part of a team that works with the entire Volvo Group! Our main stakeholders are for example Real Estate & Brand, GTO, VCE, Buses... you get it, we work with everybody. So why are we writing this ad? We are looking for our newest colleague, which we are hoping will be you!

What will you be doing?
As a Commodity Buyer you will be fully responsible for your segments (we have 13 in total) with the opportunity to handle everything from sourcing to supplier selection and signing agreements which includes strategic reasoning.

You will have full responsibility to ensure that the segment strategy is implemented through supplier selection and continuously secure supplier QDCFTSR performance by using the tools and purchasing/cross functional network. Your accountability lies in the quality, delivery, cost, feature, technology, sustainability, risk management of your segments and its supplier base.

Your core responsibilities will consist of:
• Contributing to segment strategies and being an active member in the global network of commodity buyers.
• Driving sourcing activities for your segments and negotiate challenging price and legal agreements.
• Closely track supplier performances and driving all relevant activities to deliver on targets
• Securing alignment between the supplier selection and the segment strategy/segment business plan.
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with internal cross functional stakeholders.
• Performing daily purchasing activities related to order management, logistics and financial flows for the suppliers.

• University degree, preferably Engineering or Business
• Excellent communication skills
• Project management knowledge and/or purchasing experience is required
• Self-driving and independent work
• International experience is meriting
