Volvo Cars Purchasing is ultimately responsible for the selection of all Volvo Cars suppliers
and has the responsibility for the procurement of all production material and services to Volvo Cars.
The supply of materials and services- to the right quality, in the right quantity and on time- is essential to the smooth running of the company and to match our customer's expectations.
The purchasing department at Volvo Car Corporation is divided between purchase of production material and purchase of non-production material (FM&SP).
Transportation Purchasing, FM&SP, is responsible for the purchase of all outbound transportation, inbound transportation, packaging and other logistic services.
We are now looking for a Commodity Buyer in the area of transportation, on a temporary hire until 2011-01-31.
Job Description:
Drive and develop all purchasing activities within assigned commodities.
Be responsible for the development and implementation of commodity strategies.
Be responsible for market tests, tenders and negotiations.
Actively work to develop the commodity towards best practice.
Be responsible for daily work such as placement of orders, handling of agreements and general administrative work.
Identify and implement cost-savings in cooperation with suppliers and internal customer.
Required qualifications:
Minimum 3 years of qualified experience within the Purchasing area
Minimum a bachelor degree within Science and/or economics
Skills in Microsoft Office, i.e. excel, word and outlook
Fluent in spoken and written English
Experience from Analytical tasks, i.e. spend data, market tests and supplier performance
Ability to lead purchasing projects; i.e. hold presentations and
coordinate meetings
Desired qualifications:
Work experience from Logistic assignments
