The purchasing team Dressed Engine are managing Engine Management System (electronics and software), fuel injection, ignition- and glow system, sensors, actuators , turbo, supercharger, EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) and hot end exhaust including substrate, washcoat and PGM (Precious Metals) within Powertrain Purchasing. We purchase material to advanced projects, new projects and running production for all Volvo Car Group Engine and Vehicle manufacturing plants.
As Commodity Buyer you will be leading the global sourcing activities for sensors, ignition and glow systems. Your main focus areas will be commercial performance and responsibility for annual commercial result. The role requires good holistic understanding and strategic view to proactively develop and improve the supplier base within the cross functional team. The position will also require a high ability to solve problems in a structured manner and identify opportunities for improvement.
Main responsibilities
• Purchasing strategies and business plans within the area of ignition and glow systems
• Cost reduction on a cross functional basis and for supplier annual commercial reductions
• Lead sourcing activities up to decided sourcing approach
• Support Product Buyer to establish agreements with suppliers such as "Sourcing Agreement", "Commercial and Program Agreement", having the overall perspective for the commodity
• Strive to attain constant improvements and increase efficiency by i.e. establishing a supplier base in accordance to Volvo Car Group overall strategies
• Develop commercial opportunities within the supply chain
• Establish action plans on supplier-specific issues in running business
Required qualifications
• Commercial or technical university degree or equivalent experience
• Experience from a Senior buyer or Commodity Buyer role
• Proven negotiation and commercial experience
• Good overall administration skills including good knowledge in MS Office Excel and Power Point
• Experience within the automotive area is meritorious
• Fluent in English
• Driver's license B
