Commodity Buyer - Engineering Services
Volvo Cars Purchasing is in search of a Commodity Buyers to join Indirect Purchasing. As a Commodity buyer for our Engineering Services department you will be responsible for sourcing of bought assignments to Research and Development. You will be working for and together with the Research and Development departments where you will have the opportunity to build a large contact network.
Volvo Cars Purchasing is ultimately responsible for the selection of all Volvo Cars' suppliers and has the responsibility for the procurement of all production and non-production material and services to Volvo Cars. The supply of materials and services- to the right quality, in the right quantity and on time- is essential to the smooth running of the company and to match our customer's expectations.
Job profile:
• Responsibility to identify sourcing needs
• Carry out market analysis and benchmarking studies
• Performing supplier evaluation and negotiations
• Leading of supplier selection activities
• Finalising contracts
• Build, develop and maintain competitive supplier strategies (commodity strategies)
Your profile:
• University degree or equivalent work experience
• Minimum of 3 years work experience as a Purchaser with at least 2 years within the Research and Development area
• Experience from technical consulting business is meritorous
• Good knowledge of product development
• Previous working experience from Volvo Car Corporation is meritorious
• Ability to drive for results and passion for business
• Analytical thinking and able to challenge status quo
• A positive approach with a drive for commercial results
• Enjoy working in team and interact with people
• Excellent communication skills in English and Swedish, oral and written
