Axis is looking for the right person to fill an opening as a Commercial Purchasing Manager in our Operations department.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
As we strive to keep high growth in a market with strong competition it is of great importance that we constantly improve our purchase prices as well as make sure that we have the right pricing from start. As a Commercial Purchasing Manager at Axis you will hold a key role in accomplishing this. Your job will be to continuously lower our purchasing prices and the focus area is products bought from our contract manufacturers. You will also be overall responsible for the reviewing and approval of quotes for new products from our contract manufacturers.
Furthermore you will:
• Initiate and drive cost saving activities, for instance redesigns
• Improve the process of continuously reviewing the pricing from our contract manufacturers
• Take part in the planning and decision process regarding which contract manufacturer to choose as producer of a particular product
• Measure and follow up our overall purchasing cost saving goals
• Work closely with R&D to achieve competitive costs for key new products
• Support Category Managers in category negotiations and take part in other specific negotiations
This position requires 30-50 days of travelling per year.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We believe you are an open minded team player with strong analytical skills, a structured way and with a result oriented focus. In order to be successful in this position it’s important that you are prestige less and willing to share knowledge and information. Knowledge of different cultures and business practice is desirable.
We also believe the right person has:
• At least 10 years of purchasing experience from international companies and at least 5 years with strategic responsibilities
• Good knowledge of EMS business and electronics manufacturing
• Good knowledge of the electronics industry and component pricing
• Knowledge of mechanical manufacturing methods
• Experience from working in ERP systems
• Very good negotiation skills
• Excellent skills in English, both oral and in writing
OPERATIONS
The Operations department at Axis consists of Supply, Production, Logistics, Customer Order, Demand Management, Quality, Sourcing and Production Preparation functions. Together we fulfill our customers’ demands and provide them with high class service. We also support Axis’ development organization and take responsibility for the industrialization of the developed products. Our aim is to perform these tasks with high quality at a competitive cost.
