hela Sverige Job summaryAs a Commercial Packaging Engineer you will be working in a team responsible for taking global commercial packaging decision for the different Volvo Group Brands, for both new parts in product project and for existing legacy parts. You will work closely with product development, purchasing, sales organizations and warehouse operations when taking your commercial packaging decision. The commercial packaging should not only protect the part but also to drive brand image, sales and customer satisfaction for all Volvo Group brands. Position DescriptionWould you like to contribute to the development journey in the commercial packaging function?Would you like to work in an international, experienced and proud team of commercial packaging engineers?Then this might just be the right position for you!Key responsibilities Decide upon global commercial packaging solutions fulfilling Volvo Group branding, environmental, quality and commercial requirements for spare partsOptimize commercial packaging cost in the total supply chainCollaborate with suppliers, buyers and product developers to ensure the best total solutionAs participant in product projects, responsible for ensuring commercial packaging decisions in the early phasesSupport suppliers and other stakeholders with know-how regarding commercial packagingTake actions on feedback from stakeholders and adapt commercial packaging solutions, to continuously improve cost, quality and create value for our customersDevelop new packaging materials and new packaging solutionsActively work with continuous improvements utilizing Volvo Production System, to reduce packaging cost, improve quality, increase customer satisfaction and improve processes, tools and work methodsMonitor PI's and take appropriate actions to meet targetsDefine cost targets for implementing commercial packaging by parts suppliers to safeguard positive impact on total costSupport the Volvo Group purchasing organizations in negotiations regarding commercial packaging costQualifications University degree in mechanical/industrial/packaging engineering or similar work experienceExperience from working with packaging operations, design or developmentExperienced in using different IT tools i.e. MS Office, CAD drawing tools (e.g. CreoView), Volvo internal applications (GPS, GLOPPS, RAPID etc.)Service market knowledgeKnowledge in Volvo Group processesUnderstanding and usage of logistics cost modelsSelf-motivated, take initiative to improve processes and proceduresStrong collaboration skillsStrong written and oral communication skillsProficient in English languageAbout usThe Volvo Group is one of the world's leading manufacturers of trucks, buses, construction equipment and marine and industrial engines under the leading brands Volvo, Renault Trucks, Mack, UD Trucks, Eicher, SDLG, Terex Trucks, Prevost, Nova Bus, UD Bus and Volvo Penta.Volvo Group Trucks Operations encompasses all production of the Group's engines and transmissions, as well as all production of Volvo, Renault and Mack trucks.
