Your role as a Development engineer in the field of RF/Microwave Technology
The Innovative Product Development Business Unit in Norrköping is engaged in research, development and education in the field of microwave heating and related sensor systems. We have customers in the white goods industry, but we are also involved in industrial applications where microwaves are used in drying and heating processes. We are working at the forefront of technology to find new applications. The introduction of Solid State components instead of magnetrons for the generation of microwaves, and the application of RF sensors up to the THz-band, opens up new innovative opportunities. We are now in a phase of expansion and need to strengthen our team.
As a consultant with us you will have the opportunity to work on exiting assignments, where we take part in the development of solutions for the future. The goal is for you to take on a role as one of the team's experts on microwave systems for drying and heating. You will be working with the design of new microwave systems, but also at our customers, analysing and solving problems in existing systems. The job will entail all aspects of a microwave system such as microwave generation, impedance matching, feeding, distribution and containment. A good understanding of how microwaves interact with different materials is fundamental. The job also entails arranging training sessions and coaching engineers who are new to the field. Contact with customers is an important part of the job, which means travelling both within Sweden and abroad.
In your development work you will be solving advanced technical problems, and help our customers to develop and improve their own complex systems. The work will involve some travelling to meet customers, follow trends and learn about new technology. Supporting sales activities at a high technical level is also a natural part of your daily work.

What can you offer?
We are looking for a person with an MSc degree, or equivalent, in Radio Frequency and Microwave Engineering, and with at least 5 years experience from RF design - industrial experience is an extra qualification. You have a broad theoretical knowledge of physics, but you also feel comfortable doing experiments and hands-on work in the lab. You are well acquainted with microwave components and measuring equipment. Experience from dielectric heating and/or EM simulation software such as HFSS, CST, COMSOL or QW3D is very valuable. Since training and coaching is part of the job, pedagogical experience is an asset. Social competence - to be outgoing and be able to take initiatives - is important. Much of the work is done internationally, so a high standard of English is required. Knowledge in languages such as German, Italian or Chinese is strongly qualifying.
