Are you passionate about how people experience the interior climate of our cars?
The Climate Analysis & Verification department has a global responsibility for testing and analysis of interior climate within Volvo Cars. We act as a competence centre and deal with all aspects of interior climate such as heating and ventilation, the air conditioning loop, air quality and defrosting capacity.
Climate comfort is tested in rigs (i.e. climate chambers and wind tunnels) and on the road at a large variety of places, for instance around Gothenburg, in the north of Sweden, in south Europe and in South Africa. Today, we face new challenges in terms of achieving good interior climate with improved energy efficiency and we are strongly affected and involved in new types of powertrains; such as electric vehicles and hybrids. We are 24 members in the group which is one of five groups in the Climate department.
Main responsibilities
You will be involved along all stages of testing and analysis. Some responsibilities are:
* Carry out rig tests, which include climate tunnel tests and climate chamber tests
* Carry out road testing activities and manage or participate in expeditions, within and outside of Sweden
* Analysis of measurements and results
* Test and analysis of climate functions in rigs and cars
* Results reporting, e.g. oral and written conclusions and recommendations
* Method development
Continuous work with testing codes and procedures is part of the job. At times you may lead a team of engineers or work with improvements of measurement systems.
The work is carried out in close cooperation with attribute leaders and function owners as well as system and component engineers within the other groups of the Climate department and other affecting departments.
Qualifications
Required:
* MSc or BSc within electronics, mechanics, mechatronics or similar university degree
* Experience from analysis of tests and technical solutions
* Experience from functional and SW testing
* Good written and oral skills in Swedish and English
* Drivers license
Meritorious:
* Experience from work with INCA and VMD
* Experience from work with hybrid or electric vehicles
* Experience from work with vehicle networks and development/diagnosis tools for vehicle software's
Personal profile
* Good communication and social skills
* Flexible
* High analytical skills
* Ability to prioritize between different tasks and to keep deadlines
* Like to work in teams
* Ability to manage tasks with greatest sense of responsibility
Other:
Climate tunnel testing will sometimes require work outside of office hours. Travelling within Sweden and abroad is sometimes required.
