generation of ABB products and system. At the Scandinavian Center we are
220 highly educated engineers with worldwide responsibility for research
and technology development in the ABB group for several areas within power
and automation. In the Electrical Apparatus and Diagnostic group we are
working with corporate R&D in the field of electrical power apparatus
diagnostic in the power system.
Responsibilities
We are developing the next generation electrical apparatus, substations
from idea to prototype or field installation. Typical apparatus and system
are tap changers, circuit breakers, switches, operating mechanisms,
substation, switchgear. As a member in the group you should be part of a
team that should develop the next generation of tap changer in close
cooperation with the Business unit Component in Ludvika. After 2 years you
continue your work at the Business unit and start a career at the Business
unit Component in Ludvika. As a part of ABB Corporate Research you will
work with dynamic, motivating and creative teams with a wide range of
experience and competence. At ABB Component you will work with introducing
a new technology at the business unit.
Qualifications
As a development engineer in our team we expect that you have a MSc or a
PhD in Material Science typically from Chemistry or Theoretical Physics.
We are looking for candidates that have competence in the following areas:
" Material Science
" Polymeric materials
" Thermosets
" Thermoplastics
" Metallic materials
" Surface chemistry / surface treatment
" Electrical contacts
" Corrosion
" Ageing behaviour and test methods
" Manufacturing methods
Experience from Power technology is a bonus. Field experience from
utitility or power related industry is also very valuable.
