We are now looking for a Chief Procurement Officer to further improve and align our procurement activities. The location for this position is Sandviken, and the role requires international travel.
Key performance areas
As Chief Procurement Officer, your main responsibility is to ensure that all procurement activities are focused on finding the optimal level of cost and performance for our external expenses. Further that these activities are performed in line with strategies, requirements and policies. You set the targets, create and maintain the policies. You ensure that the risk level in our sourcing activities is in line with the business needs and that we have a sustainable supplier base. You apply procurement policies and guidelines and develop them throughout the entities, leading the global purchasing activities.
Other responsibilities are to: collect purchasing requirements from the organization and translate them into objectives; have an overview of the external spend; and execute agreed projects within the organization. You secure that appropriate agreements are used, and you are also the lead negotiator in some strategic areas. You are also responsible for creating, implementing and monitoring actions to improve cost and performance of the suppliers, as well as managing and developing the teams of Strategic Sourcing, Tactical/Operational Purchasing and Supplier Quality. Another important area is the ownership of the procurement processes. With the process management comes the responsibility to drive the system requirements and changes within Sandvik Coromant.
You are a member of the management team and report directly to the Vice President of Global Operations, Sandvik Coromant, and indirectly to the Chief Procurement Officer of Sandvik Machining Solutions Supply. You are also a member of the Sandvik Machining Solutions Purchasing Board.
We are looking for someone with a Master's in Technology and/or Business Administration, and extensive experience from a managerial purchasing role in a multinational manufacturing company, as well as from a line management position. You have experience from working with senior stakeholders as well as production engineers, or similar roles, have good business acumen and know your way around SAP. It is advantageous if you have been a member of a management team. You have good skills in verbal and written English, while knowledge of Swedish is an advantage.
