In your role as Chief Patent/IP Officer you will be overall responsible for Tobii?s patent portfolio, its upholding, expansion and practical use in the business. You will be working hands on with inventors, CTO and management teams as well as developing our overall patent strategy. In more detail the position includes
• Preparation and prosecution of patent application and reexamination requests
• Working closely with inventors and external patent prosecution consultants
• Carry out freedom to operate analyses
• Competitive landscape review and infringement analyses
• Establishing and developing patent strategies, policies and routines
• Initiate licensing deals, drive patent applications and develop patent cases, both offensively and defensively, including litigation
• Participate deeply in M&A due diligence and patent licensing programs
• For this crucial and demanding position we are looking for a whip-smart individual with a keen business sense coupled with an ability to drive for results both personally and by leading others.
You enjoy both the hands on work of drafting a patent application and the international business climate of patent licensing negotiations.
In particular we believe that you have
• A Masters degree or higher in engineering or relevant field
• A minimum of 8 years experience in qualified patent work, such as patent prosecution, portfolio management, freedom to operate/infringement analyses
• Solid knowledge of international patent law
• A strong commercial side and experience from working in a corporate environment or assisting in business deals as a consultant
• Experience from licensing deals, infringement conflicts and M&A work is highly meriting.
