About the Role
This is a hands-on financial leadership role at the center of a fast-moving company. As CFO, you'll report directly to the CEO and own everything from financial planning and reporting to commercial strategy and investor relations. As CFO, you will also manage and lead the finance team, setting clear expectations and driving high performance.
This is a role for someone who thrives on building financial infrastructure from the ground up - comfortable with a fast-moving environment, close to the business and as focused on growth as on control.
You'll have full ownership and a unique opportunity to grow with the company as we scale from 70 MSEK to significantly beyond.
What You'll Do
Financial Leadership Own the financial planning, budget, forecasting, and reporting processes. Ensure leadership has real-time visibility into performance and that the numbers drive decisions.
Commercial Strategy Work closely with the CEO and leadership team to evaluate business opportunities, pricing, new markets, and expansion. You understand that finance exists to enable growth - not just to control it.
Accounting & Payroll Oversee accounting, payroll and VAT, with a dedicated team responsible for day-to-day operations.
Structure & Control Build the financial infrastructure that allows Nova to scale responsibly - across geographies, entities, and headcounts. Define processes, implement controls, and ensure compliance without creating unnecessary bureaucracy.
Team & External Partner Management Set clear expectations for your team and external partners (accounting, audit). You know how to get the most out of the people and resources around you.
What You Bring
1-5 years of experience in a CFO or equivalent role
Degree in economics, finance, or equivalent professional experience
Commercially minded - you see finance as a strategic tool, not just a control function
Structured and analytical, with a strong grip on numbers and processes
Comfortable operating in an environment that isn't fully built yet - you create order, you don't wait for it
Fluent in Swedish and English, both spoken and written
Nice to have
Previous experience as a manager
Experience with capital raises
Experience from fast-growing companies of similar size
Experience in multi-country operations
Experience from the healthcare sector
Experience from service-based businesses

Video Interviews Candidates who move forward will be invited to one or two video interviews via Teams. These conversations focus on your experience, how you think, and how you have built and scaled teams or organizations.
Final Case Interview (On-site, Stockholm) The final stage is a more in-depth case interview conducted at our office in Stockholm. You will work through a realistic business scenario relevant to the role and meet key members of the leadership team.
