We are looking for a Chief Engineer to be part of the Design Center Organization, consisting of currently three local Regional Design Centers. The main task is to strategically develop the engineering competences within molecular filtration (MCC), with focus on steel constructions a.k.a. housings and bed filters, enabling MCC to globally become more cost efficient with continuously smarter designs.
Main area of responsibilities:
Together with PMs (Product Managers), BDMs (Business Development Managers) and Design and Service Center Director define the product envelopes, including freedom to operate i.e. defining allowance for local adaptations. Also strategically select and work with design upgrades, improvements and new designs including cost reduction and technical optimization of product architecture.
Create a competence/ knowledge data base / engineering handbook for design (Including best practice, local rules, client demands, HSE, ladder standards)
Strategically develop the engineering supportive documentation for manufacturing. (drawings, welding & assembly specifications, BOM, free issue)
Work with design/engineering competence within MCC, including training sessions, tutoring, mapping of competences and general support), also to identify necessary competence and process improvement areas.
Be ready to contribute in client meetings for high profile projects or customers.
Responsible for benchmarking manufacturer's best practice together with design centers
Abilities & Qualifications
To be successful in this role we would like you to meet the following requirements:
• Team player, goal oriented with an optimistic outlook and attitude
• Understanding of design process, manufacturing process and product quality requirements
• Good ability to express technical information in speech and writing (English)
• High knowledge and experience of filtration system and Camfil system product portfolio
• Bachelor's degree in industrial, mechanical engineering or equivalent experience, alternatively a long production experience and very good product knowledge
• Well experienced in 3d-cad, i.e. Solidworks
• Understand our customers' requirements and expectations within Engineering and Design area
• Min. 5 years' relevant experience
• Possibility to travel on request
