hela Sverige We are expanding in Sweden and are looking for a Chief Engineer that can contribute in the development and technical road maps for our local business, providing recommendations for tactic and strategicplanning. The Chief Engineer will have the technical control of assigned projects within a defined area of responsibility.
Your primary work place will be at the Lindholmen office in Gothenburg but you will also work closely with your AVL colleagues in Södertälje, Haninge and Graz, Austria. You will also network with other AVL colleagues all over the world.
Within your defined area of responsibility - Your tasks will be to Regularly make customer visits to existing and new business areas, communicate and represent AVL 's technical competence in order to grow client base. Further development of technologies and support of the methods development. Overall represent your technical area. Technically lead AVL projects. Make technical decisions and independently prioritize the tasks in terms of the project. Ensure technical integration and networking with the customer organization. Identify and create qualified leads and opportunities - help driving them during the RFQ phase. Support with project planning and calculation during the RFQ phase. Be responsible for achieving the objectives according to the customer specification and AVL 's contractually arranged parameters and measurement variables for the defined area of responsibility. Ensure customer satisfaction in engineering. Track associated KPIs and control progress.
You will also Be involved in the recruitment process of new engineers, build up and lead your own team. Act as mentor for junior engineers and supporting experienced engineers. Participate as a project member in technical projects when required.
This is a challenging role and we believe that you have experience in some or preferably several of the following Skills and Competencies
Solid understanding of the technology trends and market needs to create value added propositions for the local client base. Relevant experience in Calibration, Controls, Simulation or Mechanical Development. Experience in customer relationship, with strong but customer-aware negotiation skills; ability to influence. Excellent presentation and communication skills; ability to condense complex issues into clear messages Strong problem solving, analytical and listening skills Bachelor's degree in engineering; Master's degree preferred or equivalent experience Minimum 5 years experience in the automotive industry, preferably in leadership positions Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel, Access and Power Point
