What you will be a part of
Group ICT, Saabs global IT organization, provides all of Saab common IT related services, which include technology solutions, applications, development, management, operation and support. Based on business needs ICT defines and develops new IT services as well as operating and supporting existing IT services. Saab is expanding globally and to improve and speed up global IT standardization and governance a new unit, Product Management, with focus on the IT strategy and future solutions has been created. The chief architect will be a key player by leading a highly skilled team of about 10 architects.
Your role
As chief architect at Product Management your main focus will be to lead the strategic architectural work to lay the foundation for Saabs future IT solutions:
Work closely with head of product management and the ICT management team to develop, establish and communicate the Saab group IT strategy.
Lead the development of technology roadmaps for the different product areas.
Lead and coordinate the architect resources within the department and the extended architectural team. This may include line management depending on the profile of the candidate.
Lead the enterprise architecture function including the architectural council.
Lead analysis of the current IT environment to detect critical deficiencies and recommend solutions for improvement.
Lead analysis of technology industry and market trends to determine their potential impact on the enterprise architecture.
Consult with project teams to fit projects to enterprise architecture, as well as to identify when it is necessary to modify the enterprise architecture to accommodate project needs.
Consult with infrastructure development project teams to fit infrastructure to architecture, as well as to identify when it is necessary to modify the technical architecture to accommodate infrastructure needs.
Identify organizational requirements for the resources, structures and cultural changes necessary to support the enterprise architecture.
Your skills and experience

We believe you have several years of experience as technical lead, architect or similar within a global organization with a complex IT environment.You have successfully developed IT strategies, architectures and technology roadmaps which have been implemented into proven solutions. Knowledge and interest in information/IT-security is key to this position. We expect you to rapidly comprehend the functions and capabilities of new technologies.
In this key position, integrity and strong leadership combined with exceptional interpersonal skills, including teamwork, facilitation and negotiation are necessary.You are fluent in both Swedish and English and have a solid background with a Ph.D./M.Sc./B.Sc. in engineering/IT or equivalent.
