hela Sverige The Development team in Årsta is a vital part of the R&D organization for Adhesives within Industrial Coatings, AkzoNobel. Our mission is to develop break-through technologies and products for the wood working industry, to defend our position as market leaders.
Our main customers are large factories all over the world, producing laminated beams used for building constructions like sport arenas, bridges, airports et c. Our adhesives are also used in the production of parquet flooring and furniture.
Main technologies used for these adhesive systems are amino resin, polyurethane and dispersion based chemistries. Sustainability is a key focus area for us and we continue to push the boundaries for what is possible. We look at the whole process and continuously drive the development towards more environmental friendly solutions, all along a product's life cycle.
The Development team consists of chemists with different backgrounds and experiences, working closely together with the whole R&D team (46 employees globally, of which 34 are based in Årsta). The work is carried out in a project driven organization, with a strong customer focus and the attitude that nothing is impossible. Team spirit and cooperation across functions are highly valued within our organization.
Main duties and responsibilities:
• Participate in development projects. Main tasks are formulation and synthesis work, tests and evaluations.
• Deliver results of high quality in all tasks.
• Clear documentation of your own work in R&D projects.
• Share and expand your knowledge to support the R&D community.
• Develop excellent working relationships and strong network with the RD&I team
• General supervision and maintenance of laboratory. Ensure proper waste handling is taken care of.
• Run routine analysis and performs standard testing.
• Keep up with development in own fields of expertise. Ensure transfer and retention of knowledge.
• To t ake part and make risk analysis where needed.
• Have good knowledge of and compliant with company quality systems (ISO 9001 / ISO14001/ ISO 18001).
Requirements
• Master or Bachelor of Science in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering, or similar. Relevant areas are Organic Chemistry, Polymer Chemistry, Surface Chemistry etc.
• Relevant work experience is an advantage.
• Fluent in Swedish. Good skills in English both in writing and verbally.
• Good communication skills.
To be successful in this position you should be a chemist with a willingness to work in a laboratory, independently or as a member of a team. You have strong delivery and customer focus with good analytical and communication skills. As a person you are curious, responsible and service oriented.
