EasyMining is looking for a driven and innovative chemist, chemical engineer or a chemical process engineer with location in Uppsala who wants to change how the world's food is produced. Phosphorus is a major component in mineral fertilizer, and today is largely extracted from rock phosphate originating mainly from Morocco with a high climate impact as a consequence.
Without phosphorus in mineral fertilizers, the world's food production would decrease considerably resulting in a large-scale food shortage. Easymining has several patented innovations/processes that enables phosphorus extraction from ashes of combusted sludge, as well as innovations that can greatly reduce the energy requirement for phosphorus fertilizer production. We are in the process of commercializing our technologies and therefore need additional resources to operate pilots, design, optimize, analyse and develop our technologies. Job brief
We are looking for a candidate to be responsible and take part in our process development and upscaling. The successful candidate will be a part of our development team in Uppsala, be able to perform laboratory optimization work, operate pilot plants and be involved in the improvement of industrial processes in order to maintain efficiency, reduce cost, improve sustainability and maximize profitability.
Responsibilities
• Plan and execute experimental work (laboratory) for process optimization
• Assess processes, take measurements and interpret data
• Design, run, test and upgrade systems and processes
• Operate pilot trails
• Provide documentation of experimental work

Education & Experience Requirements
A bachelor or master degree from a university in chemistry or chemical engineering is a prerequisite.

It is of benefit if you have experience in the following process operations
• Chemical precipitation
• Filtration
• Solvent extraction
