Svitzer Scandinavia are seeking three experienced Chief Engineers for work on our Swedish tugs, two positions in Göteborg and one in Brofjorden. Svitzer Scandinavia offers good opportunities and career future for our employees, in a responsible, independent and exciting position in an international Group. You will have the possibility for many contacts, both within and outside the company.
As a Chief Engineer, your main tasks will be:
• Operation and maintenance of all technical equipment onboard, in machine and on deck.
• Planning, coordination and implementation of ongoing and regulatory service, maintenance and repair
• Education of new personnel
You will also act as Chief Fire Officer onboard.
We require that you have a degree in marine engineering with a class V authorization. You have at least 3 years working experience as a Chief Engineer, and 1 year as first assistant engineer on vessels with a minimum of 3000 kW in European traffic or wider. Valid certificates for Basic Safety, Basic and Advanced Firefighting (STCW A-VI/1.1-1.3) is also required. As a person you are solution-oriented with good judgment and problem solving skills and a structured way of working. Flexibility, team working and good communication skills in both Swedish and English are also key success factors, as you will be working in two week schedules as one of 3-4 members of the tug crew. Since traveling could occur, driver's license is required.
