Responsibilities and Tasks
• Plan, lead and carry out the Computational Fluid Dynamics analysis and Global Motion (frequency domain) analysis.
• Take part in a development of a GVA standard for CFD analysis (procedures and work instructions)
• Create 3D models to be used for hydrodynamic analysis
• Establish input files for the analysis
• Solve the radiation/diffraction equations and post processes the results from it and deliver the required outcome
• Plan, lead and carry out Mooring analysis by performing estimate calculations for wind and current force coefficients or use results from wind tunnel tests, establish input files for the analysis and perform iterative calculation for establishing a sufficient mooring system that fulfills regulatory and classification society demands.
• Plan, lead and perform wind and wave model tests.
• Plan, lead and carry out Dynamic Positioning capability analysis
• Plan, lead and perform Dynamic Positioning simulations
• Take part in improvement of GVA?s products, technical solutions and way of working and provide technical guidance to less experienced engineers and occasionally give internal training courses with purpose of mentoring and knowledge sharing
Qualifications and Experience
• M.Sc. degree in Naval Architecture (preferable) Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering or Physics Engineering.
• 15 + years proven experience within the CFD analysis field and 3 + years within offshore industry.
• A strong background in analysis and mathematic.
• Strong background in flow dynamics.
• Expertise in FEA & CFD with a clear understanding of science and engineering.
• Sound knowledge about systems, components, involving structures and fluid mechanics is essential.
• Developed knowledge in the area of global motion and in the area of mooring analysis is an advantage.
• Fluent and effective oral and written communication skills in Swedish and English are required.
