Our first aircraft is the ES-19, a nineteen-passenger airliner with an operating range of 400 km. The ES-19 is a fully electric aircraft, and our goal is to have the aircraft certified for commercial operation by 2026.
Your full-time place of work will be at our main office and hangar facility. This is located at Säve Airport in Gothenburg, Sweden. At Heart you'll be working at the cutting edge of technology while contributing towards a sustainable future.

Role Overview
The Certification Engineers report to the Project Certification Manager and have broad responsibility for the management and execution of given technical subsets of the aircraft certification programme. The subject disciplines can include Flight Sciences, Structures/Airframe, Interiors & Cabin Safety, Propulsion and Mechanical Systems.
As a part of the certification team you will work towards discharging the responsibilities on behalf of the Head of Airworthiness in line with EASA Regulation IR 21.A.239(a). You will interface directly with engineering department certification specialists as well as other company functions such as Manufacturing, Operations, Flight Test and Supply Chain Management. Such responsibilities will not immediately be awarded, but will be part of a personal development plan you will help to co-define and implement.
You will develop to become an active part of the Airworthiness & Certification function to program/technical reviews as well as customer/supplier meetings and airworthiness/certification meetings with the authorities, ensuring the certification programme follows the regulatory requirements and our design organisation handbook. You will also ensure schedule adherence to the certification programme and play an active part in design reviews to meet certification, cost, and schedule goals.
Qualifications & Experience

Graduate degree in aerospace, aeronautical similar discipline, or equivalent experience via accredited post-graduate training/apprenticeship & on-the-job product design experience (i.e. 5 years total).

In addition to the above, minimum 2 year's design engineering and/or product certification experience.

Technical experience within one of the disciplines listed above and/or sufficient transferable skills/experience to be able to develop to cover a given aerospace technical discipline.

Understanding of the complexity of aircraft development programs through the design, development & certification lifecycle (EASA/FAA Part 23 or 25).

Excellent verbal & written communication skills in English.

The ideal candidate would have

2 year's design engineering and/or product certification experience within an aerospace OEM company environment, aerospace regulatory authority or Tier 1 aerospace supplier.

Understanding of, or experience with, aircraft certification programme planning & execution (i.e. certification basis, developing & executing a product certification programme, working with regulatory authority/authorities to obtain product certification).

Understanding of, or experience working in, an EASA Part 21J Design Organization, or international equivalent.

Experience working in an aerospace start-up environment.

A strong compliance and integration mindset.
