The position
As a Certification engineer you will implement and adopt the Volvo Bus homologation strategy regarding European and International certificates, where sound profitability aspects are highly focused.
In this role you will provide expertise in vehicle legislation for buses and monitor the development of international legislation for buses.
EC/ECE/MVSS/GSO
Global vehicle directive and regulation expert for international legislation
Networking and lobby activities in cooperation with Volvo Trucks experts, and having relations to authorities, associations and competitors regarding vehicle legislation
Interpret legal information from ACEA, OICA, BilSweden and similar organizations to the homologation engineers
Create and update legal roadmap for buses and inform the concerned departments within Volvo Bus
You will be responsible for an area of regulations and do the planning and preparation of certification tests with International authorities, test institutes and concerned project teams.
In this role you will compile technical information documents and provide certificates for Volvo Bus complete product range, components, systems and complete vehicles.
Here you will also act as Project Manager Homologation in different Product Projects.
You will be part of the Homologation Team and a global network.
The team is part of the Product and Project Management department within Global Bus Technology.

Who are you?
To be successful in this position we think that you have an enthusiastic and proactive approach with collaboration and communication skills.
You define success in terms of the whole team and have an in-depth understanding of Homologation business.
Required Skills
BSc. or MSc. in engineering, law or equivalent
Broad specialist competence in vehicle legislations with long experience (minimum 10 years)
Knowledge, experience and good understanding of the national approval process for buses
Good business like competence combined with negotiation experience towards International authorities
Automotive experience
Excellent communication and negotiation skills in English, both spoken and written
