For our client, AstraZeneca, we are looking for a senior researcher to be part of the Cell and Molecular Biology team within the Transgenics function.
The position is available immediately for a highly skilled and motivated cell and molecular biologist with extensive experience and state-of-the-art knowledge in transgenic science & technology around sophisticated cloning vectors and advanced molecular analysis of transgenic- and knockout mice. The assignment is for 1 year.

Publiceringsdatum2012-01-18Dina arbetsuppgifterThe successful candidate will be experimentally focussed and highly skilled in defining transgenic strategies at the molecular level, building vectors using standard cloning techniques and bacterial homologous recombination methods.
The main focus of the role will be to build targeting vectors for generating KO and conditional KO mice along with performing molecular analyses to confirm the fidelity of such KO's including Southern analyses and RT-PCR. Extensive experience in animal experimentation, defining breeding strategies and managing mouse lines is required.
Additionally, experience of in vitro work such as cell culturing, and embryonic stem cell work is a further advantage. Some weekend work in our tissue culture lab would be expected. Candidates should be organized, have good social skills and be strong team players. You should be able to work independently, take own initiatives and have a positive and goal oriented attitude.
