About the team
The department Electrical Infrastructure, belonging to Software & Electronics Platform at Volvo Cars Engineering, intends to strengthen its Software, Tools & Methods team with a Catia V5 / Catia in 3DX Electrical expert with focus on development and support in the tools
Electrical Infrastructure is responsible for the complete vehicle electrical system, including the electrical and mechanical wire harness system and all related components. We are 250 engineers, working in all old and new platforms and car programs. The Software, Tools & Methods team consists of 10 engineers with the main responsibility to develop, maintain and support the department in all tools used to design our cars.
What you will do
We have an open position for a Catia V5/Catia in 3DX Electrical expert to join our SW, Tools & Method Team, being responsible for tailoring Catia V5/Catia in 3DX Electrical based solutions from customer/organization requirements. Focus is on development of Catia V5/Catia in 3DX specific integrations and customizations. The candidate will be required to work within an international team.
As an Expert in the SW, Tools & Method Team, it is required to understand, design and implement solutions for the Electrical & Mechanical systems.
It is expected that the successful candidate will be able to perform the following tasks.
* Understand design process and the context of the requirement
* Translate customer requirements into software specifications
* Design, implement and evaluate the functionality for the requirements
* Participate/Drive continuous competence development in our engineering teams
* Interact with co-workers and stakeholders to improve the quality of deliverables
* Capable of delivering a major / complex development task in a cross-functional team environment.
* Skilled in balancing and integrating design aspects in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
* Ability to act a as tutor / mentor in the area.
* Very skilled in & drives improvements of relevant design tools, methods, and processes
What you will bring
* Technically strong Catia V5 and/or Catia in 3DX
* Proven skills in Catia V5 Electrical or Catia in 3DX Electrical Design
* Experience with PDM systems, e.g., Teamcenter or 3DX Platform
* Good appreciation of industrial software solutions and architectures
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
* Ability to learn innovative technologies
* Ability to understand the electrical distribution system design and manufacturing flows/processes
* Highly initiative taking with an eagerness to learn and take initiatives
* Follow software development best practices, lifecycle and methodologies (e.g., Agile, System Requirements Specifications, Unit test...)
* Good verbal and written English communication skills
* Engineering graduate or post-graduate
Extra awesome if you have
* Skills in CAA coding for Catia V5
* Skills in EKL coding for Catia in 3DX
* Skills in C++ and/or C#
* Skills in Electrical CAD tools, e.g., CAPITAL, SABER
