www.nobia.comFor the position as Category Product Developer, Nobia are looking for a business driven product developer, with technical knowledge and an open mind.
About the position
You will develop, design, specify and deliver efficient and profitable product solutions, all aligned with Nobias strategic product compliance and environmental guidelines.
In this position you continuously need to re-evaluate and value engineer the cost effectiveness of the product portfolio with the aims of reducing costs, without compromising quality or customer expectations.
Main responsibilities
• Lead the technical development of cost efficient products
• Maintain up to date knowledge of material, technical, suppliers and manufacturing developments
• Value Engineering of existing products which support reduction of purchase prices and manufacturing
• Responsible for construction, testing, technical specifications and prototyping and ensuring all products
meet our environmental and quality demands
• Responsible for initiating the Master Data process for category developed products
• Responsible for producing and maintaining product drawings, technical specifications, test criteria/data, quality criteria and technical product documentation
• Establishing and setting the quality criteria (supported by the CDM and Quality)
• Conduct design reviews with suppliers and approval as necessary of supplier product
drawings; ensuring close and effective relationships are developed and maintained with suppliers.
• Support (and in certain cases lead) NPD Projects
Your competence
You have operated in similar high profile role. You are able to demonstrate strong and around the product technical knowledge. Keep up to date knowledge of environmental- and product legislation and accreditation.
You are used to develop close relationship with suppliers
You are an excellent product developer/engineer driven by results and constantly seeks to improve the product You have experience and ability of project management and to lead large groups. You are a team player who also enjoy working independently. Exceptional drawing skills is a must (e.g. SolidWorks or other 3D CAD software). This role needs a flexible and highly self motivated caracter with the ability to adopt a diplomatic and persuasive approach as necessary. You need to have a detailed knowledge of the market. This position also requires an excellent communicator with strong IT skills (MS Office applications, Project, Excel, Access,
PowerPoint, etc)
Education
Commercial- or design degree from business schools or equivalent. Preferable 5 to 6 years experience from a similar position.
Language skills
Good knowledge of english is a must.
Travel days
This position requires approximately 30-40 days per annum. Both national and international.
