Business Unit Distribution Sweden operates the largest electricity distribution network in Sweden. We connect new network customers and also maintain and invest in our network assets to give our customers a high quality supply 24/7. In addition to this, we measure and report our customer's electricity consumption and generation. We are an efficient electricity distributor with quality of supply exceeding stakeholders' expectations, and an enabler of sustainable energy.

Job Description
Do you want to be an enabler of renewable energy transition through electrification?
We are now looking for a Category Manager to join our team of +15 procurement professionals.
The team is functionally divided into a strategic team of Category Managers and SRM specialist, a tactical team of +7 Sourcing Managers tendering projects and making call-offs under existing framework agreements.
Jointly we support Vattenfall Distribution in fulfilling their targets for both CAPEX and OPEX, and thereby enabling climate transition through electrification of industries and households.

The opportunity
As Category Manager you will be part of Vattenfall Staff Function Procurement and provide support to Business Unit Distribution Sweden.

In this role emphasis will be on innovation and developments in what is known as strategic material that Vattenfall Eldistribution sources directly or indirectly and provides as input to our contractors of construction projects.

You will contribute with value creation for the benefit of Business Unit Distribution Sweden. The focal point of this particular role is common activities for a Category Manager such as leading category teams, performing analyses of supply markets, performing analyses and categorization of the supplier base, development of category strategies, implementation of category strategies, sourcing of framework agreements as well as managing future and ongoing deliveries.

Key responsibilities includes:
Main category in scope is strategic material that Vattenfall Eldistribution sources directly or indirectly and provides as input to our contractors of construction projects and the field service category catering to the operations and maintenance of our assets
Based on business demand, market- and industry structure development and implement category strategy (-ies) for the assigned category (-ies) in close cooperation with Business Unit Distribution Sweden according to the business strategy and goals
Leader of category teams for the assigned category (-ies) comprising of e.g. internal customer representatives, technical managers, contract management, purchasing + support functions e.g. legal, security, HSEQ
Analyses such as demand analyses in Distribution Sweden and market analyses - existing suppliers, emerging suppliers, substitutes/alternative solutions including classification and segmentation of existing supplier base and act as supplier responsible for suppliers and supplier development within the category (-ies)

Qualifications
To be successful in this role we believe you are analytical and have a strong belief in fact-based and data-driven decision making. You are curious with an open mind and a good team player who contributes to other employees and stakeholders bringing out their fullest potential.

Qualifications
Relevant academic education, preferably B.Sc. Engineering, M.Sc. Engineering, or equivalent
5-10 years of relevant working experience as Senior Buyer or Category Manager and experience from developing and implementing category in the manufacturing, energy, utilities or infrastructure industry
Experience from management of deliveries under a framework agreement and demand/supply forecasting as a means to secure uninterrupted supply and enable growth
Experience from working with and engaging with external suppliers to enable development and collaborative innovation
Knowledge of and experience from general terms and conditions typically used in supply of materials, services and construction projects e.g. NL/Orgalime/AB/ABT
Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills, in both Swedish and English on a "professional working proficiency" level, enabling the ability to work across relevant business functions e.g. asset management, project management, R&D, legal etc. to deliver complete and fit for purpose solutions, products and services


Optional experiences and skills
Knowledge of EU tender law (LUF in Sweden)
Experience from large sourcing projects and complex framework agreements with complex incentive and price adjustment models
Knowledge of the energy business, understanding of the business regulation and boundary conditions of a regulated DSO
