hela Sverige As category manager you will be responsible for Electronic components and Circuit boards (PCBs) and the team is consisting of transactional buyers, Strategical buyers and a category manager that also act as the Team leader. The Team is responsible to both operative as well as strategic deliver a world class purchasing service to HVDC customer projects and R&D projects within its category cluster scope. As category manager you will create category strategies to ensure optimal result for some of above stated categories including sourcing and negotiating with the main suppliers in the category.
In your role as Team leader you will ensure that strategic buyers and buyers will follow the strategies that the Team has together created and that purchase orders are placed and followed up accordingly. Monitoring and developing existing suppliers and securing that the products or services that you buy, will have right quality and are delivered on time at optimal cost level to our project business, are responsibilities within the role. Close interaction with stakeholders from HVDC tender and execution projects, engineering, R&D and management is vital for the role to secure continuous improvements within the category.
As a category manager leading a category team, you are genuine interested in technical components and systems and likes to interact with people. You are familiar to work in a "large project environment" close to the customer and have +10 years of experience in advanced purchasing. Experience in electronic components and circuit board categories is an advantage. You are English speaking and have preferable an academic degree in business or engineering. The position are based in Ludvika Sweden and reports to the Manager Category Cluster Teams.
You will part of HVDC (High Voltage Direct Current), which is a business unit within ABB's Power Grids division located in Ludvika. The unit develops, manufactures and sells DC transmission systems on a global market. This ABB developed HVDC technology is used to transmit electricity over long distances and for power transmission via submarine cables. HVDC is also used to connect power systems.
The Global Supply Chain Management organization at ABB HVDC is strengthen its ability to perform professional and competitive value add services within purchasing and logistics by investing in new roles and a new focused knowledge based working structure. The global SCM organization, consisting of about 50 persons and is responsible for an annual purchasing spend over 500 mEUR, delivers value and service to ABB HVDCs large infrastructure projects spread around the world
