Solar Sweden AB with operations since 1989, has a turnover of approximately SEK 3 billion, about 600 employees and is headquartered in Gothenburg. High customer service is in focus, with 48 branches from Luleå to Malmö. The company also have central warehouses in Örebro, Halmstad and Alvesta and investment in warehousing and distribution.
In order to realise Solar?s ambition of being a profitable sourcing and services company, we established a Sourcing organisation in June 2014. The primary focus of the department is to create a better understanding of sourcing by involving the Solar subsidiaries to a much higher extent than before thereby creating a sourcing community across the Solar Group. The department will therefore consist of a mix of corporate and local employees who will work together to reach a common goal.
The Sourcing team is responsible for all procurement activities carried out in Solar. By establishing a global governance model we aim to improve efficiency and utilize global scale effects in terms of volumes, resources, and best practices within the group. As such we are going through a transformation phase to implement global category management principles and seize the benefits of a global operating model.
Therefore, we are now seeking a new Category Manager ? for indirect material - who will report to the Sourcing Manager in Sweden, and in matrix report to the Vice President Sourcing on a Group level. You will have overall responsibility for developing and executing on the strategy and work in an exciting new area where you will help shape the sourcing approach in Solar going forward. Our aim is that you are able to combine work and responsibility both on local level as well as on Group level, which is why you are located in one of our local operations today.
Your tasks will be to:
Set objectives and strategies within the context of the Sourcing strategy plan.
Coordinate activities within the Sourcing community.
Coordinate and contribute to supplier strategy development, tender management, contract management, vendor assessment activities
Build strong strategic relationship management with key vendors when relevant
Work with senior stakeholders to ensure that sourcing obtains its rightful place at the strategic agenda
Build the stakeholders into an effective case for change.
You possess the following qualifications:
Excellent expertise of the sourcing market, commercial skills, technical insight
Excellent negotiator with large international companies
Confident in taking decisions and implementing controversial changes
Strong analytical skills and comfortable with complex numerical problem solving
Ability and interest to deep-dive into details when needed
Team oriented and able to adapt to various different organizational cultures
Strong commercial orientation with a passion for obtaining commercial results
Energetic, self-motivated and take initiative
Positive attitude and excellent people skills
