Aimpoint is a fast-growing company, and our growth imposes increasing requirements on the Supply Chain. We need to strengthen our supplier relationships for existing products while also securing future suppliers for our development projects. To meet upcoming challenges, the Supply Chain organization will expand the team with three Category Managers.
The Role
As a Category Manager, you will be part of the Supply Chain organization, which is part of Operations, and you will be responsible for one or more designated categories. You will lead the team within the given category, driving activities together with other team members. Examples of daily activities may include:
Ensuring that activities within the category contribute to the company's overall strategy and set goals.
Applying and further developing procurement strategy, purchasing processes, and supplier relationships within the category.
Tracking and analyzing key performance indicators and data.
Phasing in and out suppliers in accordance with the company's strategic plan.
Ensuring that purchase agreements are signed with favorable terms for new and existing suppliers.
Strengthening existing supplier relationships and working on suppliers' development potential.
Ensuring documented and communicated negotiated frameworks, such as price lists, MOQ, lead times, etc., within the organization.
The role involves many external interfaces with subcontractors within the assigned category, as well as internal collaboration since the team resources are also part of the company's product teams. As a Category Manager, you will lead a category team consisting of 4-6 members, depending on the size of the category, and report to the Supply Chain Manager.
Your Background and Profile
To succeed as a Category Manager, you should have documented experience in strategic purchasing and logistics, along with a relevant university degree or equivalent. You have experience negotiating with international suppliers and a strong understanding of purchasing processes, Category Management, supplier development, and logistics development. Experience in the mechanical, optical or electronics industries is a merit, as is experience within CAPEX and indirect materials.
You possess excellent abilities to adopt a business-minded strategic role and to compile, present, and analyze data. You can work on both a strategic and operational level and have good experience driving profitability-enhancing projects, including analysis and follow-up.
Excellent proficiency in Swedish and English.
