Category Buyer - Direct Material

Ensuring the supply of materials and services - at the right cost, quality and technology - is essential for the success of Volvo Car Group.

We purchase material to advanced projects, new projects and running production for all VCC:s manufacturing plants. Our group's main areas are Engine Mounts, Engine Encapsulation, Propulsion Plastic, Air Induction Systems, Electrified Charging and Fuel System and we are now looking for a Category Buyer that can strengthen our team.
You will be part of a dynamic team of 9 buyers. We work supporting each other to reach our business objectives.
You will be responsible to secure supply and deliver cost efficiency and additional value into our sourcing programs.
You will also participate in the development and execution of Commodity Business Plans.
What you'll do
In this broad and interesting role, you will participate in strategy and business plan work but also establish action plans for part-specific supplier issues in the ongoing operations.
In your role you represent VCC and procurement towards the supplier base, and will work with short-term and long-term goals. You are a key member of cross-functional teams consisting of colleagues from the R&D organisation, Supplier Quality Management and Cost Engineering.
You will be working with cost reductions on a cross functional basis and develop commercial opportunities within the supply chain.
You will also:
• Lead commercial and contractual negotiation with suppliers within the area.
• Secure Purchased capacity and correct information in purchasing systems and follow up on results and deviations.
• Conduct market-, supplier- and spend analysis to be on top of the area and be able to perform strategic sourcing initiatives.
Do you fit the profile?
We believe you have a University degree or equivalent professional experience in relevant area and minimum 3 years of relevant work experience preferably from purchasing/procurement.
You possess good negotiation skills and have strong analytical and problem solving skills, and also have the ability to handle many issues/projects in parallel. You are of course fluent in English (written and spoken) with great communication skills in general. Experience from international environment is preferred.
