Let's create the future together.

At Volvo Cars, we believe that being curious and truly committed to understanding people is the key to future success. We are people who care about other people, working together to create new technologies and innovations for safe, sustainable and convenient mobility. Want to join us?

The section Powertrain OBD and Dependability, within Complete Powertrain, has the mission to ensure that the development of the next generation engines reflects our brand essence of 'Designed Around You' and that all legal and customer attributes regarding OBD and Powertrain dependability is met. All activities aim to deliver world class OBD and dependability. Currently the section includes approximately 115 employees, organized in seven groups.

The group 97552 is responsible for managing programs for the deliveries of the 97550, Diagnostic & Dependability, section. We consist of Calibration Leaders, responsible for managing development programs and EMS Technicians, responsible for planning and supporting emission test labs and equipment used by the section.

What you'll do

As a Calibration Leader you will be responsible for planning development programs according to the main program plan of the project. You will lead your team in ensuring timely deliveries of robust diagnostic monitors fulfilling legal, factory and aftermarket requirements.

The Calibration Leader is responsible for reporting project status to the System Program Leader and the line management of the 97550 Diagnostics & Dependability section. The Calibration Leader is also expected to plan, prepare and lead climate test trips with his/her team and also takes line manager responsibilities for the team during these trips.

After program end the Calibration Leader is expected to follow up and report status of final project deliveries, white book reports documenting lessons learned and creating a backlog issue report. The Calibration Leader also support the program during the initial Quality History Review (QHR) in order to ensure that no unknown quality issues have been released with the final product.

Do you fit the profile?

We believe you have at least a BSc degree, preferably in Applied Physics or equivalent. Experience in measurement and calibration of software within the automotive industry is a requirement for this role. Good command of both written and spoken English as well as a driver's license is also a must. If you also have experience from SW development/data analysis and MatLab/Simulink/Python, we consider it meritorious.

What's in it for you?

The role allows for vast opportunities of development as the Calibration Leader can develop themselves in both a technical knowledge approach, where the Calibration Leader takes a more active role in participating in the planning and calibration of diagnostic monitors, or a more administrative approach, where the Calibration Leader develops our methods for planning and tracking program progress.

Next step within the section could be a SA3 role, where the Calibration Leader moves to an earlier phase in product development focusing on the concept phase, of a Group Manager role within the section. Another possible career path is that of the SPL, System Program Leader, which is on a department level.
