hela Sverige As a calculation engineer (CAE) you will provide the organisation with inspiration and knowledge in order to ensure the strength and durability of VW Truck and Bus future after treatment systems. Our group is currently comprised of seven CAE engineers. We have now a need to expand due to future projects. We offer a collaborative environment where everyone participates in driving projects forward. Roles and Responsibilities
Cooperate with test engineers to plan, develop and verify after treatment components and systems, utilise loads acquired from truck measurements as inputs for simulations.
Correlate simulations of dynamic systems and test results, to provide both support and direction to teams of designers based upon your recommendations.
Work close with design and optimise future iterations with regards to strength, weight and cost as well as other parameters affected. Through expertise and competence you will help guide the product from an early stage in the design process.
Analyse results from finite element simulations and prepare both reports and presentations, to assist with, and to effectively communicate your findings within various forums.
Continually develop calculation methods with the help of new software and/or test data to improve efficiency and accuracy, both in-house and with the collaboration of external suppliers.
Evaluate new information, processes and education within the discipline, to be able to improve the best-practice currently employed at Scania.
Requirements
You are a graduate mechanical engineer interested in vehicles and structural mechanics, who appreciate an environment with both individual and collaborative work tasks.
Experience in dynamics in combination with fatigue is required.
Both practical and theoretical knowledge of mechanical systems would be an advantage, as well as knowledge in the pre-processor HyperMesh and the FE solver Abaqus.
Meritorious is experience in after treatment systems, optimization, weld & temperature simulations.
As a person you are an analytic, a team player and can share your results by presentation as well as in reports.
