The Structure and Durability team is a part of a worldwide organization within Virtual Product Development, supporting product development within all types of Volvo construction machines and their components. On the Braås site, we are 15 team members working in the field of strength and durability within new product development projects, product improvements and method development. To strengthen the team, we are now looking for a new team member, located in Braås, who is highly engaged in developing both the company as well as the individual skills.
Tasks and responsibilities
• Identify, plan and lead strength and durability FE-analysis activities in new development projects for wheel loaders and articulated haulers.
• Perform dynamic and static FE-analyses of components and systems.
• Collect and define data necessary for FE-analyses, e.g. loads, material properties, allowable criteria and machine properties.
• Identify, specify and evaluate measurements to be used as input for analyses.
• Contribute in development of methods within the field of strength and durability.
• Documentation and review of results.
Competence and Skills:
We are looking for a team member with passion for strength analyses and with the ability to lead FE-analysis activities within the team. You are analytic, structured and enjoy working in teams. You are ambitious and have a drive to continuously develop yourself, our methods and our products. Working in a global team, but also involved in the local communication, you need to have good language skills, both in Swedish and English, spoken and written. For your future, we welcome the ambition to develop within a leadership role.
A preferred background for the position is a degree MSc/PhD in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent, together with a minimum of five years working experience of FE-analyses. Experience within the strength and durability field is desirable.
