The section Advanced engineering is responsible for developing strategies and new engine concepts, fuel strategy and to deliver exhaust after treatment technology for all Volvo Cars engines. The section is dived into the following areas; Diesel Engine and Gasoline Concept & Attributes, Engine Strategy & Research, Advanced Engineering Design. We are in a very expansive period with new and exciting challenges ahead. The expansion plans of Volvo Cars Corporation involves several new propulsion systems including several new development programs.
In the Engine Strategy & Research area we are responsible for delivering the engine, fuel and oil strategies for VCC engine programs. We are also responsible for maintaining and controlling engine related research with our partners and universities. Future lubrication for combustion engines will be a key question for propulsion systems. High demand for fossil free fuels and the implication for the combustion engines will be essential. One of our key deliveries is to handle lubrication questions and development.
We are now looking for a person who is interested working with lubricant for Volvo Cars propulsion systems. As a Senior Analysis Engineer you will work closely together with our propulsion specialists to carryout oil related tasks.
Main responsibilities
Coordinate engine oil related questions
Plan tests with oils
Maintaining engine oil list
Developing oil requirements
Participate in engine related quality tasks
Analyze, report findings and results oil related topics
Oil specifications responsible for production, service and aftermarket related tasks within Volvo Cars Corporation group, which means supporting other locations as well
Support and coordination of oil specifications tests
Collaboration with internal as well as external suppliers
Preparing and maintaining technical documentation
Required qualifications
M.Sc. within Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or other relevant field
At least three years of experience in tribology related engineering
Good knowledge of tribology, combustion engines, and analysis methods
Knowledge in material capabilities and oil related issues is meritorious
Motivation and interest to specialize and grow from technical knowledge perspective
Confidence to influence, support and take strategical decisions
Fluent in English (written and spoken)
Driving license "B"
Personal qualities
Able to work in teams as well individually
Communicative with ability to delegate and influence
Structured and analytical approach in solving development tasks
Self-motivated, self-driven and service minded
Outgoing and flexible, prepared to travel and be able to work on global levels
Confident and comfortable with preparing and leading presentations
Confidence to influence, support and take strategical decisions
Have the motivation to become a field specialist and grow in technical knowledge perspective
General interest in automotive technologies and vehicles
