CAE Engineer Injection Molding Analysis

The Interior Engineering department focuses on delivering world-class interior for our future cars. We are responsible for all phases of the development, i.e. annual work, advanced engineering, concept development, industrialization, current model quality and cost reduction. We work to a large extent in a cross-functional product development process together with Purchasing, Design, Manufacturing, Product Planning and of course the other development units within R&D. We are now looking to strengthen the Interior Trim Section with a CAE Engineer for Injection Molding analysis. This role will belong to the group Hard Trim, responsible for Pillar Trims, Interior sill moldings and Tailgate panels.

As CAE Engineer Injection Molding Analysis you will plan, execute and analyse results of CAE calculations for the department. You will work closely with Group Design Leaders and Design Engineers, and together with another CAE Engineer for Injection Molding Analysis. You will also work with simulations, support design engineers throughout the development phase and verify CAE models as well as results to prevent risks regarding appearance and geometry.

Main responsibilities

• To plan, execute and analyse results of CAE calculations within injection molding area
• Simulation of injection molding process
• Analysis and judgement of the component design in early production development phases
• Based on simulation result, recommend solutions to solve appearance or geometry issues on physical part
• Providing CAE Safety with input regarding material fibre orientation
• Participate in tool review with design engineering team and supplier
• Supply input to future programs based on lessons learned from previous program
• Write and present CAE reports

Required qualifications

• M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
• At least 3 years of experience of design engineering, preferably of components in polymer materials
• Fluent in English, written and spoken
• Good knowledge in Catia V5
• Experience in Teamcenter is meritorious
• CAE experience is meritorious
• Experience in ANSA, Moldflow Software or tool design is meritorious
