hela Sverige Scania is a world leading provider of transport solutions. Together with our partners and customers we are driving the shift towards a sustainable transport system. This implies many challenges for the engines and powertrains of the future. Today, Scania has the broadest range of alternative fuel-enabled vehicles on the market. This broad range of technical solutions is always evolving to minimise environmental impacts while the engines are being adopted to new powertrains with different levels of electrification. Meanwhile, the continuous strive for energy efficiency and robustness is ongoing.
As a CAE Engineer within the group "Engine Strength Analysis" you will play an important role in this shift. In collaboration with design and test engineers, your work will have a big influence on the design of our engine components and their ability to meet the customer demands.
The group is currently comprised of eleven CAE engineers of varying nationality, sex and age. We are, along with most of our clients, situated at the Scania Technical Centre in Södertälje.
What you will be expected to do
From the early stages of the design process, support designers to optimise components with regards to strength, weight and cost.
In cooperation with test engineers, plan tests in order to verify engine components and simulation models.
Continually develop CAE methods to improve efficiency and accuracy.
Analyse results and communicate your conclusions to the rest of the organisation in an informational way. Often in the form of reports and presentations.
What we can offer you
A collaborative work environment where you will receive backup and support from the other team members.
Varied and challenging work assignments within the field of solid mechanics and FE analysis.
A long-term and family-friendly employer who prioritises individual development and balance between leisure and working hours.
With 3,000 employees at R&D and 46,000 employees worldwide, future career opportunities are plentiful.
State of the art computing resources.
Easy commute from Stockholm to Södertälje via our own bus line.
Your profile
You have a Masters degree or equivalent in engineering, preferably specialised in solid mechanics. Your personal qualities are of great importance and we value your social skills as high as your technical competence. You are expected to be analytical, easy to cooperate with and genuinely interested in understanding and solving problems. You should also have the ability to structure your own work as well as coordinate tasks with our internal costumers and other analysis groups.
A few years of previous experience of strength analysis, fatigue and/or dynamics is highly meritorious, as is previous experience with HyperWorks, Abaqus, DesignLife and basic programming skills.
You master English, spoken as well as written. A basic understanding of the Swedish language is valued since most of the internal communication is carried out in Swedish.
