Who we are

The group Engine CAE - Solids support the department Propulsion Power System with advanced computer based analysis of Dynamics, NVH and durability. The analyses are carried out on both internal combustion engines (ICE) as well as on electrical motors. We work on all levels from complete system to single components and always strive to deliver state of the art computational analyses. The group consists of 15 people with different areas of expertise.

We are now looking for a CAE Engineer to work with durability and vibration analysis on combustion engines and electrical motors.

What you'll do

There are many different areas within combustion engines and electrical motors that are exposed to cyclic loads. It is essential to develop the systems to withstand these loads and to minimize vibrations and emitted noise. Your role will be to perform computer based calculations on different engine and electrical motor systems and components regarding durability and vibrations

The work will be carried out both independently and in teams and you will take part in different projects as well as in method development. You will present results both oral and in written reports and you are responsible to issue recommendations. Since the team have a wide area to cover there is also possibilities to support in other nearby areas.

Your mission will be to:

* Perform computer based calculations on different engine and electrical motor systems and components regarding durability and vibrations.
* Use the Finite Element Method (FEM) tools ABAQUS and NASTRAN, and ANSA for preprocessing
* Write reports and make oral presentations and issue recommendations

Do you fit the profile

We are looking for someone who is analytical and has a genuine interest in advanced technical calculations and highly developed methods. As the role will implicate a broad span of contacts you should have a strong ability to communicate and to convey results in a structured and understandable way. You understand the need of collaboration and striving towards the common goal with different stakeholders, to share the knowledge and skills available in the organization. Since the work is carried out both independently and in teams we expect you to be a good team player as well as be able to manage work tasks on your own.

We believe that the strong candidate has:
* Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering with focus on Applied Mechanics
* Experience of working with relevant advanced computer aided analysis
* Experience of analysis of casted structures exposed to cyclic load using FEM
* Good communication skills, transparent approach and is fluent in English, written and spoken
