CAE Engineer Climate

The department Climate Control System is responsible for the climatization of the cabin. The responsibility includes attribute setting, engineering of components and systems needed and testing/verification in rig and complete vehicles. The department is a part of the unit Body & Trim and we are currently approximately 75 employees, organized in four groups.

This role is positioned in the group Technology and System. The responsibility for the group is attribute setting, advanced engineering coordination, concept leading in early phases, process development and CAE.

As CAE engineer you will be responsible for using 1D system simulation to solve complex questions arising in climate system design, optimization and control areas. You will support many different roles at the climate department, with recommendations based on CAE analysis and experience to contribute to the design development. You will also work cross-functionally with modeling groups in other departments to solve problems involving many systems, such as powertrain and electric engineering. Working as a CAE engineer, requires continuous learning and evolving/development to see the possibilities of using virtual methods for development of future vehicles.

Main responsibilities

• Support design of climate systems and development of the climate attribute, using CAE analysis
• Initiate and perform CAE model development in new areas and method development
• Participate in advanced engineering for climate system
• Participate in cross-functional projects and support with models and knowledge
• Communicate directly with design engineers, project leaders, experts and test engineers
• Stay up-to-date with new developments within modeling and new technology within the area

Required qualifications

• M.Sc. including skills in the following areas: Thermodynamics, fluid-dynamics, process system design, mathematical system modeling, automotive development
• Good knowledge in at least one of the following areas: refrigerant systems, engine & engine cooling systems, climate systems, climate control or attribute evaluation
• Good knowledge of numerical modeling methods for flow and heat transfer
• Drivers licence "B"
• Fluent in English and Swedish, written and spoken
• Experienced with GT-Suite or similar system modeling software is meritorious
• Experience in automotive development environments is meritorious
• Previous experience of Matlab, 3D-CFD code and optimization tools is meritorious

• Ability to conduct your own simulations to verify ideas and to enable efficient cooperation with other engineers in the area
