What 's in it for you

The mission of Driving Dynamics and Noise & Vibration Center is to develop and deliver an excellent driver and passenger experience in all Volvo Cars products. The centre has the responsibility to ensure that dynamic attributes such as Noise, Vibration & Harshness (NVH), Sound Quality, Steering, Handling and Ride, are supported in the vehicle programs, both in terms of customer and legal requirements.

We are now looking for a new colleague to strengthen our team, a CAE Engineer for Body Acoustics and Dynamics team. You will investigate how the body design influences our attributes within NVH & Vehicle Dynamics and provide feedback and suggestions to the design team, as well as develop our simulation models and methods. We are often working in cross-functional teams which will give you many internal and external interfaces of collaboration and a chance to develop and broader network.

If you have a technical background as well as an inner drive to evolve and make a difference then this could be a great opportunity for you!

What you will do

As a CAE Engineer - Body Acoustics and Dynamics, you will be responsible to perform body acoustic and dynamic simulations, analysing e.g. noise and vibration transfer functions, point mobilities and global and local stiffness of the product.

If we break down your responsibilities you will take on the NVH CAE analysis for body acoustics including root cause analysis and CAE analysis of static and dynamic body stiffness and its influence on vehicle dynamics. Further, you will participate in car program teams, communicate analysis results and guide the design work from an NVH and vehicle dynamics perspective. You will as well participate in the requirement setting at systems level, development of improved or new methods, model capability analysis and in implementation of new SW and HW.

The work will be carried out both independently and in teams and you will take part in different projects and be part of the Scrum team in the agile set up. You will have the possibilities to support in other nearby areas as well and work with them in close collaboration, hence expanding and sharing your knowledge and network widely.

Do you fit the profile

We expect you to have Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering with focus on Physics, Applied Mechanics, Automotive Engineering, Structural Engineering and have working experience with advanced computer aided analysis.

You possess knowledge in structural dynamics and engineering acoustics, as well as vehicle dynamics. You have been working before with calculation based analysis and have automotive experience. Tools you will be using in this role are Nastran, Ansa, Matlab, Adams and Hyperworks, which is meritorious if you have other skills and knowledge that will help you to embrace this quickly.

On a personal level
