What's in it for you?
Powertrain Mounts is a group within Propulsion, that plays an important part in to Volvo Cars' development of next generation luxury cars. If you are the right person for this job, you will realise that this is an opportunity to create innovative human-centric cars that makes life less complicated for people. As CAE Engineer in this group, you'll have a have a strong influence on the cars' characteristics in regards to drivability, ride comfort, noise and vibration together with a team of dedicated and experienced colleagues.
What you'll do
As CAE Engineer you will be responsible for making the specification of rubber parts. The specification needs to reach the best balance between several different attribute areas and also the project targets. The balance between attribute areas are made by a Multi Disciplinary Optimisation (MDO) process which has been developed by Volvo Car Group. The attributes we are balancing between in CAE are Noise Vibration and Harshness, Drivability, Ride comfort and Durability.
Do you fit the profile?
You have a M.Sc in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent knowledge obtained by work experience. You are also experienced in programming as well UNIX/Linux scripting, are fluent in English and have a valid Driver's License. If you have knowledge in Adams/Car, Mode frontier, Matlab, Python or Macro programming in Excel for development of CAE Excel based Toolbox, this is considered a plus.

To succeed and enjoy this role, we believe that you have strong interest in the CAE area as well as contributing to the development of next generation cars. This is a high complexity role, where you really make good use of your problem solving ability. Since Volvo Cars are all about cars, you are genuinely interested in vehicles and their functionality. Since you'll spend much time on balancing attributes as noise vibration, harshness and drivability, we're certain that you have exceptional analytical skills.
