Description of Company
Component Technology (CT) within Business Unit Networks (BNET) Sourcing, is responsible for providing requirements, specifications, technical data etc. for components utilized in design development, deployment and maintenance of all Ericsson's products. Component Technology has approximately 70 employees located in Kista, Mölndal and Genova.
The unit CAD Part Design and PB/PBA Standards is one of the 7 units within Component Technology and is responsible for providing all CAD part design for Printed Board assembly. Evolution and definition of Design Rules and Standards for Printed Board and Printed Board assembly are also included in the responsibility. The unit is located in Kista and has today 12 people employed. The work is done in close cooperation with the other units within CT as well as HW Design Centers, Supply and Sourcing.
Job description
A CAD Part Engineer is responsible for:
• Design of symbols made in part developer for components used in schematic design
• Design and calculations of ideal footprints for components used in Cadence Allegro PCB layout (geometries)
• Footprint and mechanical art work creation
• Maintenance of CAD parts
• Management of Ericssons Global CAD libraries, Mentor Board Station and Cadence Allegro
• Working in accordance with Component Technology's, Component Handling Process (CHP)
The CAD tools used are Cadence (Part Developer, Allegro Design Entry HDL,and Allegro PCB)and Mentor (Mentor Board Station).
The CAD parts are designed on request. These are filed in a web-based request tool, CFT.
The successful candidate's prime objective is to design new CAD parts with high quality and with high efficiency. The workload is often high and is important to be able to maintain high performance and high quality also in stressful situations. Prominent characteristics of the candidate are accuracy and perseverance.
Qualifications
• BSc in Engineering; Electronics, Design or equivalent experience
• Experience in HW design or layout , preferably in Cadence or Mentor environment is qualifying
• Experience in Printed Board Assembly production is qualifying
• Soldering Certificate is qualifying
• Basic Linux knowledge
• Good communication skills
• Fluent in English
