Interior Engineering is the department within R&D focused on delivering world-class interior for our future cars. We are responsible for all phases of the development, i.e. annual work, advanced engineering, concept development, industrialization, current model quality and cost reduction. We work to a large extent in a cross-functional product development process together with Purchasing, Design, Manufacturing, Product Planning and of course the other development units within R&D. We are now looking to strengthen the following groups with experienced CAD Engineers:
• Interior Trim
• Seats
• Cockpit & Surface Materials
• Restraints
As CAD Engineer you will be working in the industrialisation phase of the project up until production start, and design different components to reach the technical objectives and secure the deliveries within the given time. The work will be carried out together with a team consisting of other design engineers, test engineers and CAE engineers. The role require close contact with other areas within R&D and our suppliers. You will be reporting directly to the Design Leaders, System Program Leaders and your Group Manager. In this role you will be given the possibility to improve and deepen your technical knowledge of the system area and the chance to build new network within our company.
Main responsibilities
• In Catia V5 make concept and tooling 3D models to meet attributes and demands agreed according to VCC standards
• 2D drawings and 3DPMi (3D drawings)
• Tolerance setting of the parts
• Initiate and assure that corrective actions are carried out when deviations occurs
• Together with the responsible design leader, follow the component development time plans
Required qualifications
• Technical Education, preferably a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering
• 3 years' experience from product development
• Good knowledge and experience in CATIA V5
• Driver's license B
• Fluent in English, written and spoken
• Experience in Teamcenter is an advantage
• Technical knowledge of interior engineering & plastic tooling is meritorious
