Who we are
We are looking for a Designer with deep technical interests to work with Sheet-metal design. You should also be interested in designing and finding technical solutions.
Within the department Painted Body & Closures, our section, Closures, operates. The section consists of around 85 persons and is organized in 4 groups, Door mechanics, Door structure, Sealing and Rear opening system. We are now looking for a Designer for the Door structure Team working in new vehicle program.

What you will do
As Designer, you will work in engineering team where you will contribute with part design on system and component level. You shall create and propose engineering solution based on given area and in dialogue with main task responsible (KU). All work will be in Gothenburg with a high involvement from our colleagues from ME regarding manufacturing feasibility.
Your main responsibilities will consists of Catia V5 sheet metal and plastic engineering, create and lead the technical system development of our areas. You will need to have a constant contact with design teams, other groups, properties, as well as manufacturing. You will be responsible for creating, preparing and releasing technical documentations and perform benchmark activities.
You and your skills
We believe you have a technical education with excellent skills in Catia V5. You have strong analytical ability and technical interest in general. You have at least few years of working experience, preferably some of them with sheet metal and plastic design. Having working experience in Volvo Cars is a merit. You have experience of product development and you are fluent in English. Driving license "B", valid in Sweden is always a merit when working in Volvo Cars.
