Cab Technology is a department within Vehicle Engineering responsible for developing key systems e.g. Cab body, climate, and seat structure to all truck brands within the Volvo Group. Cab Technology is responsible for leading the work with strategies and advanced engineering for Cab engineering globally. We are located at Gothenburg, Greensboro, Lyon and Bangalore.
Cab Technology develops strategies and advanced engineering to offer the most competitive cabs. We understand the final customer needs and apply our knowledge to develop technical concepts and solutions that satisfy customer and business needs. The work is based on innovation, shared technology, common architecture and brand uniqueness.
We are now looking for an End User Function System Provider for Cab Climate GOT Feature and End User Function team. Cab Climate is responsible for design and development of all Feature, Function, Systems and global components in the Climate area as well as strategies and advanced engineering. We have a global responsibility for Cab Climate covering all sites and truck brands within the Volvo Group.
As End User Function System Provider (EUFSP) in Cab Climate, you are the Integrator and the driver who keeps together the Climate scope in a project and secures that the Cab Climate functions specified by EUFO Function Owner and FL Feature leader will be delivered to the project.
The EUFSP is a key member of the x-functional EUF network. The x-functional network have different responsibilities and together they secure all activities connected to the EUF in product development; specify, design, integrate, verify and validate. The EUFSP coordinates for example the ETL 's, EUFO, FL, EE and FVV when needed.
EUFSP has product ownership over time and will have the authority to act as solution provider for the Cab Climate EUF, cross modules, domains and engineering departments in all product life cycle phases. Affected systems/components can be within climate or any other department, if it affects climate functions or feature.
As EUFSP you are an important voice when it comes to decisions within the project. Requires a deep knowledge of the technical solutions.
The EUFSP role is a line role, product role and a project role at the same time.
You will report to the line organization Group Manager, Cab Climate GOT, Feature & EUF and will be located in Gothenburg.
Main responsibilities:
Lead design and integration activities for the EUF, cross modules, domains and engineering departments in all product life cycle phases
Document the EUF system description
Review the EUFRS (Requirement Specification) to secure that EUF system design meets the requirements
Assist project manager with input for time plans
Lead and do the coordination (on appropriate level) of quality and safety activities in the EUF X-functional network
Lead S-FMEA, Fault-Tree analysis and Technical Safety Concept
Contribute and participate in activities like formal inspection of EUF RS, Screening, Hazard Analysis and Functional Safety Concept
Note that End User Function Owner, EUFO, is the main responsible for Functional Safety Concept. EUF SP is the main responsible for Technical Safety Concept
Assist project manager with input for project follow up reports
Assist project manager with x functional data for concept dashboards and concept decisions in the project
Be receiver of and address issues in the distributed solution for the EUF and the EUF System description
Qualifications
As our preferred candidate you have MSc in Engineering with extensive experience of product development within the automotive industry. You should have ability to handle complex balancing of contradictory engineering and customer requirements. You are also expected to have several years of experience working with Cab Climate system in the automotive business.
You need to be an inspiring leader and have a positive mind-set. You need to have the skill to work with global teams. You are expected to have a holistic view, show organisational agility and be able to achieve results and continuous improvements. You should possess solid English skills.
